Researchers said that two cups of coffee a day could cut your chance of developing alcohol-related cirrhosis by 44 percent.
Cirrhosis deteriorates the liver by blocking blood flow.
Alcoholism is the second-most common cause of that condition in the US.
However, experts said that coffee will never balance out all the negative effects of excess alcohol.
Some doctors said more research needs to be done to establish a definite link.
